Christians are called to both a true confession of faith, that Jesus is God who came in the flesh, and to love. We need not fear God’s judgment because God is love. God demonstrated his love by sending his Son into the world, so that by his atoning death our sins might be forgiven and that we might have life. Faith then is both in what we confess and in what we do, and it is only possible because of what Christ has said and what Christ has done.
