This week, as we look at the strange wrestling match between Jacob and God (in the form of a man), we see a picture of us. Like Jacob, we often think we can obtain God’s blessing through our own schemes and strength. However, the true blessing comes when God breaks our self-sufficiency and brings us to the end of our strength. It is then that we see we have no hope other than to cling to Jesus.
